Q1a. Write an account of the contribution of the emigrants and Helpers in the life of Holy Prophet (SAW)./10 (Knowledge part  250-300 words)

Ans. Emigrants were those venerable men who had professed faith in Muhammad (SAW) in the Makkan period. They were the enlightened group of people who despite having being born and brought up in the dark atmosphere of ignorance and polytheism heeded the teachings of Holy Quran and admitted the falsity of their ancestral religion. They suffered all kinds of persecutions. They were mercilessly beaten, hung upside down, starved, stretched on burning cinders and dragged on hot sand. In order to preserve their faith they immigrated twice to Abussinia and finally to Madina. They abandoned their goods. Home and property, kith and kin and set out in the way of Allah. The Quran says: ‘When those who have adopted the faith, who have migrated and fought for Allah’s cause, may hope for His Grace”.. They sublimated their needs for the cause of Islam fighting for and if necessary dying as martyrs for Islam.

Ansaa’rs are the people of Madina who invited the Prophet (SAW) and his followers to their own town and took the pledges of Aqaba. Their hospitality and good will made the migration possible. They sacrificed a lot for Islam and Muhajireen. They considered Muhajireen as brother- in –faith. One Ansaa’r Saad bin Arabi even agreed to divide his wives amongst his Muhajir brothe by divorcing one of his wives. These Ansaa’rs participated in all the battles but never claimed war booty. Prophet (SAW) called the Ansaa’r un Nabi (Helpers of Prophet (SAW).The Quran says: ‘They showed their affection to such as came to them for refuge and entertained no desire in their hearts for things given to them but gave them preferences over themselves even though poverty was their own lot”. The services rendered by these Helpers for the cause of Islam are meritorious and Mawwakhat was possible only because of them.

I am taking O levels Islamiyat for the last ten years at The City School, CCI. Motivating students to understand the practices of Islam is my utmost challenge.Although my students have always given me laurels by producing excellent grades each year but I believe taking a good grade is not enough, the application of these morals in our life can give us success in this world as well as the afterlife.
