Surah Anaam

I'm updating this page continuously.

Surah Alaq (96 : 1-5)

Main theme:

These verses themes around Allah’s oneness highlighting His two most important attributes being our creator and our teacher. He has created man out of an insignificant clot of blood which proves all power lies with Him and only He is to be worshipped. These verses are the part of the first revelation sent to to the Holy Prophet (SAW) through angel Gabriel. The spiritual guidance sent by Allah from time to time to His messengers for the guidance of mankind .Apart from this Allah has the purest knowledge of everything referring to His omniscience. He has blessed man with written knowledge of everything through revelations and divine books .It is this knowledge that makes man superior to other creations.

Briefly explain the importance of these themes in a Muslim’s life today.

The themes of this surah signify the importance of acquiring knowledge. As Muslims we should explore the world and praise Allah’s (s.w.t) creation in the heavens and the earth. We should acquire the knowledge of Quran and impart it to others. The Quran says, “And He taught Adam the names of all things.” It also stresses on the importance of pen which has been a powerful mean for the spread of knowledge of divine unity. We should use our writing skills in transmitting the message of Allah‟s (s.w.t) supremacy in the best way possible. It also signifies the close relationship of God with man, as Muslims we must acquire Quranic knowledge to get closer to our creator and must show submission to His commands.

Surah Nas (114)

Causes of revelation:

Surah Nas, a pendant revelation to surah Falaq teaches the believers a way to seek Allah’s protection and discloses the internal sources of evil. It is one of the early revelation and was revealed when Holy Prophet (S.A.W) got sick because of the magic of a Jewish woman who did magic on Holy Prophet (S.A.W) by blowing knots. When Prophet (S.A.W) prayed to Allah for relief, Angel Gabriel came with Surah Falaq and surah Nas, informed him about the magic of the Jewish women and advised him to recite these verses to seek refuge in Allah from the evil of wicked people and jinns.

Main theme:

This passage concludes the Holy Quran, with an appeal to us, to trust in Allah and depend on Him alone rather than considering other beings as our shield and protection. Defining His three main attributes, Allah teaches our Prophet (SAW) that being the Lord, The King and the God of all mankind, Allah possesses full powers over All mankind hence, He is the only one who can provide us safety and survival. Further Surah Nas describes the evil of devil within our own heart, temptation and step by step diversion from the right path confirms that such sources of evil suggestion can be both, either the visible creation ,that is the humans or those invisible to human eye, that is,jinns.

Briefly explain the importance of these themes in a Muslim’s life today

This surah signifies Muslims to remember Allah the Master, The Lord humans who has full power to undo the evil forces crafted by Satan. Whenever we are in difficulty or under satanic pressure, we should seek Allah’s help against all evil forces therefore refuge is to be sought from the very root of evil. The Quran says, “O my Lord!I seek refuge with thee from the suggestion of the evil ones.” We should recite this surah along with Surah Falaq at night while sleeping and also in times of satanic temptation to come under Allah‘s protection.
